November 30. Susan, Christine and I saw two of three new Italian plays at the Cherry Lane theatre. I actually thought I had booked the third offer which was a Pirandello revival but we were all glad that we did not miss “The Journey I Never made” and “Story of Love and Soccer”. Both excellently translated and powerfully acted. The first is a thought provoking and somewhat unsettling portrayal of the current social turmoil and the second is modern thriller about corrupt sport and the triumph of evil over good. We were able to chat with one of the actors about the plays after the show. Before the show we ate lobster and oysters at theĀ  “Fish” restaurant which was only two blocks from the theatre!

  1. Arrived home from a wondeful trip through Russia. St. Petersburg to Moscow on a riverboat. Beautiful scenery, and tons of history, both Czarist, communist and now federalist. Moscow much bigger and busier than I ever imagined. Will post pictures as soon as I can go through them. They will be on Kodak this time, I hope a little slower than Snapfish on the slide show.

We hope Ethel continues her recovery.

    • John and Claire. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. Ethel and I took the same trip a year or so ago so
we know you had a wonderful time. I am going to the Far North tomorrow for my annual fishing
adventure. This year, I will be travelling with my daughter and grandson–My old fishing partner
of 25 years has dropped out because he doesn’t think he can handle the boat any more. Ethel
has improved enough to be able to fend for herself. Ben
