July 1  Saw “Napoli, Brooklyn” by Meghan Kennedy at the Laura Pels Theatre. It is based upon a real-life disaster, the surprise staging of which, is mind shattering! However, the story line has a surfeit of themes added; religious brain-washing, the effect of a bullying husband and father and lesbian freedom. None of these is fully convincing in spite of the excellent acting of the cast.

Cape Vincent Ferry

My friend David had worked out a route to Canada we had never taken before in our 30 years of travelling to Cochrane–we crossed the border by means of the Cape Vincent/Kingston Ferry. We stayed overnight in Cape Vincent, then early next morning we were first in line for the small ferry which took us to Wolfe Island. We motored across Wolfe Island (Lake Ontario) and joined the line for the main Ferry to Kingston. The line was horrendous and we first thought that we would have to wait half the day, but not to worry, the ferry could take 50 cars and trucks and we were the 48th!

The Ferry is coming--All back to your vehicles!

Room for one more bicycle!

  1. I’m glad that it turned out so effectively and I hope it will continue in the future because it is so worthwhile and meaningful to the community. gbacgdbbeced
