June 13 Picnicked on The Great lawn in central Park to the music of The New York Philharmonic led by James Gaffigan. Great program with spectacular fireworks after the concert. The concert included two pieces composed by students from its education program — remarkable works (Bernstein style) from composers  11 and 12 years old respectively! They took their bows from the stage!

Atlantic City update

We took one of our AC breaks on June first and second grace the Showboat Casino. The weather was ideal for walking the Boadwalk and sitting on the beach. Inside the Casinos the air-conditioning was fierce and Ethel had to wear a vest at the tables.

Here is a picture of me with the Museum behind. It has been reopened but there are no exhibits to be seen. It’s portion of the old pier is being restored but the rest, behind it, is being dismantled and will no longer present a painting subject alas!

The boardwalk is still being restored after last year's storms

All that's left of the old pier

The destroyer at work

Double portrait of me. The slimmer version on the right was before dinner!

Actually the picture above was a reflection in the one-way glass facade of the "Flagship" Casino. This is last year's picture. After a months-long period of inactivity, work has recommenced and it appears to be nearing completion
