July 1  Saw “Napoli, Brooklyn” by Meghan Kennedy at the Laura Pels Theatre. It is based upon a real-life disaster, the surprise staging of which, is mind shattering! However, the story line has a surfeit of themes added; religious brain-washing, the effect of a bullying husband and father and lesbian freedom. None of these is fully convincing in spite of the excellent acting of the cast.

4.9 On The Neurological Scale

Just after midday on Tuesday, I was standing at my computer on the 42st floor of my building when my knees began to wobble and my leg mucsles bounce up and down. Since the surgery, I have become accustomed to bits of my anatomy doing things unexpected which they were not designed for and immediately began to worry about the portent of this latest suprise.

But, as I went out of the building and people asked me if I had felt the building shake, the realisation dawned on me that my legs were blameless. You can’t imagine my relief when I learned that it was only an earthquake!
