July 1  Saw “Napoli, Brooklyn” by Meghan Kennedy at the Laura Pels Theatre. It is based upon a real-life disaster, the surprise staging of which, is mind shattering! However, the story line has a surfeit of themes added; religious brain-washing, the effect of a bullying husband and father and lesbian freedom. None of these is fully convincing in spite of the excellent acting of the cast.

Tube Worms on Park Aveue . . .

. . . . .plus, Folk Art at the South Street Seaport Museum and a fender-bender on Second

These are some pictures I took in my wanderings around the city at the beginning of the month. They do not do justice to the South Street Museum which has been completely renovated and contains many artifacts which give an interesting insight into the sea-going history of our city. Well worth a visit:

Installing street art on Park Avenue

A fine example of the folk art housed in the South Street Musem

. . . . . .another example

I heard the bang, and this is the view I saw from my balcony . . . .

. . . . and this, the view from the sidewalk!

Self portrait

And finally, good riddance to the dismembered monster that has been noisily drilling massive holes in our forecourt!

  1. Love the self portrait Ben 🙂

  2. I especially liked the portrait of you and Ethel. Here we are on our 59th anniversary.

    • John and Claire. Thank you! Your 59th picture was not transmitted unfortunately. You will have to send it by e-mail I’m afraid. Ben and Ethel
